This garden was not planned as Japanese garden. But when we talk to the owner of the garden, it turned out that he likes stones, conifers, and he prefers minimalism. All this suits the Japanese style, so we decided that we will create a garden with a "Japanese mood".
On the site there were two large maples and three birches. We left the maples, but we had to remove the birches, as the foliage heavily clogged the drains during the season.
We also had to remove turf. In order not to throw out good soil with grass, we put it at the base of future hills.
The house has a spacious and beautiful veranda, so there was no need for a gazebo. But we made a covered bench (machiai), where, if desired, you can retire, sit, talk with someone or just admire the garden.
The main place in the garden is occupied by coniferous plants: pine, spruce and thuja. From the deciduous in the shady places grow Euonymus alatus, Euonymus europaeus. In the sunny places there are the Irga Canadian, decorative apple and Chinese lilac. The lower tier on the hill is made of the Japanese spirea Little Princess, and near the stones there are planted the barbs of Thunberg Atropurpureum. Despite the adherence to the minimalist style, the owner of the garden likes flowering plants, so we added to the compositions deciduous rhododendrons. When they flowering, this corner next to the covered bench looks quite different.
At the opposite end of the site there is a wooden swing.
Close to the entrance to the house there is a barbecue made of dark bricks. In addition to its main purpose, it also has the function of a screen for a two-meter tank of the auto-watering. From two sides we covered this tank with wooden fences with a gate.
At night, thanks to the decorative illumination, the garden looks mysterious and romantic.
In autumn you can enjoy bright foliage of maples, hydrangeas and Euonymus.
The bulk of snow in winter is stored on the right side from the house. So here we left enough empty space for snow.
On the other side of the house there was a small piece of land.
We decided to make here a composition in the Japanese style. Some varieties of mountain pines are planted on a small hill, and in the center there is a dry lake of pebbles.
Despite the fact that the garden is very young, it already looks cozy and comfortable. But, of course, it will become more beautiful year by year.
