A small stone garden, which we made in the center of Moscow. Since it was not a soil, but the roof of a private house on the 10th floor, it was necessary to provide for the drainage of water. Therefore, the base was made of perforated iron, under which drainage systems were located.
When we saw the view from this place, we decided to try to repeat the geometry of the city by of stones.
The layer of pebbles is only 11 cm. Therefore, for greater stability, vertical stones were placed closer to the edges, where there is a side support for the stone.
In the center of the composition is the smallest stone. The idea is taken from the Japanese garden of the Tokai-an temple, where in a small area the stones are lined up in one line, and concentric circles run from the smallest stone in the centre. In our case, it is a symbol of a person who is the creator of the city.
In the future, it is planned to make a Japanese wooden rake for pebbles in order to be able to draw patterns on it.
